Maksym Danilychuk

Maksym Danilychuk is a Ukrainian military officer who has gained recognition for his leadership and bravery during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Born in the village of Barvynivka in the Zhytomyr region, he is a graduate of the prestigious National Academy of Land Forces. Danilychuk began his military career as a company commander in the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade, where he quickly advanced to become the chief of staff and later the commander of the 2nd mechanized battalion. His units have successfully operated in challenging combat zones in Donetsk and Kharkiv, achieving significant victories against Russian forces, including repelling attacks from Wagner Group mercenaries in February 2023. On February 24, 2024, he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine by President Volodymyr Zelensky for his courage and tactical skill. He also holds multiple honors, including the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi and the Order for Courage. His appointment as commander follows a leadership transition amid controversies in the military, positioning him as a promising leader for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
