
Manshuk Zhiiengalievna Mametova
Manshuk Zhiiengalievna Mametova was a heroic Soviet soldier and a posthumous Hero of the Soviet Union, born on October 23, 1922, in the Ural region. After volunteering to join the army during World War II, she served as a machine gunner in the 21st Guards Rifle Division. Mametova displayed extraordinary bravery during the Battle of Nivelle, where she continued to fight despite being severely wounded, ultimately sacrificing her life while eliminating numerous enemy soldiers. She was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously on March 1, 1944.
