
Marat Kushtybaev
Marat Kushtybaev was the former head of the police department in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan. He gained notoriety in November 2023 when he was arrested on charges of raping a 27-year-old woman in his office. In April 2024, he was convicted and sentenced to 11 years in prison, in addition to being stripped of his awards and police rank. His case drew significant public attention and highlighted issues of corruption and abuse of power within law enforcement.
