Marina Grițenko

Marina Grițenko was a dedicated military medic in Ukraine who actively served on the front lines, saving numerous lives during the ongoing conflict. At the age of 39, she was tragically killed on August 7, 2023, by a Russian drone strike while performing her duties. Known by her call sign 'Meri,' Grițenko enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine shortly after the Russian invasion began, demonstrating remarkable bravery and commitment. She was recognized for her valor and awarded the Order of 'For Courage' by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, highlighting her significant contributions to saving her comrades' lives. Her death, alongside two fellow soldiers, underscores the sacrifices made by military medics in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
