Mateo Zupi

Mateo Zupi, a prominent figure within the Catholic Church, is currently the President of the Italian Episcopal Conference and was made a cardinal by Pope Francis in 2019. Known for his close alignment with the progressive ideals of Pope Francis, Zupi has taken part in peace missions, including a visit to Ukraine where he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Before his elevation to cardinal, he was recognized for his positive stance towards the LGBT+ community.
