Mazarino

Cardinal Jules Mazarin (1602–1661) was an Italian cardinal and statesman who served as the Chief Minister of France under Louis XIV. He played a crucial role in the political landscape of France during the Fronde, a series of civil wars, and was known for his diplomatic skills. Mazarino was also a passionate art collector, competing with other collectors of the time, including those in Spain, to acquire valuable works for his collection.
