Menelaus is a figure from ancient Greek mythology, known as the king of Sparta and the husband of Helen. He played a pivotal role in the events leading up to the Trojan War, famously embarking on a campaign against Troy to retrieve his abducted wife, which triggered one of the most legendary conflicts in history. His story is central to many Greek tragedies and epic tales, including Homer's 'Iliad.'
