Mijaíl Jodorkovski
Mijaíl Jodorkovski is a Russian businessman and former oligarch who became one of the most prominent critics of Vladimir Putin's government. Born on June 26, 1963, he was once the head of Yukos Oil Company, which was the largest oil company in Russia before his arrest in 2003 on charges of fraud and tax evasion widely seen as politically motivated. Jodorkovski spent over a decade in prison before being released in 2013. Now living in exile, he has dedicated himself to advocating for democratic reforms in Russia and supporting opposition movements, but his popularity among the Russian public remains limited.
