Mohamed Mossadegh
Mohamed Mossadegh was an Iranian politician and the Prime Minister of Iran from 1951 until 1953, known for his nationalization of the Iranian oil industry, which had previously been controlled by British interests. His policies and reforms aimed to reduce foreign influence in Iran, but led to a coup d'état orchestrated by the CIA and British intelligence in 1953, resulting in his removal from power and the reinstatement of the monarchy under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
