Mukhafata Abu Kasra

Mukhafata Abu Kasra is the Minister of Defense of the transitional government in Syria, appointed in late 2024 following the downfall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime. Before his current role, he held command positions within the terrorist organization Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, which is banned in Russia, and was involved in planning military operations aimed at overthrowing Assad. Recently, he met with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov in Damascus to discuss military cooperation and coordination between Syria and Russia.
