Nikolai Baikov

Nikolai Baikov was a Belarusian linguist and scholar known for his work on the Belarusian language and its lexicon. He co-authored a Belarusian-Russian dictionary in 1925 that critiqued the lexicographical methods of his contemporaries, including Vatslav Lastouski. Baikov's career was marked by the political turmoil of the Soviet era, and he faced repression during the purges, yet he continued to contribute to linguistic scholarship.
