Vatslav Lastouski

Vatslav Lastouski was a prominent Belarusian linguist and lexicographer, known for his contributions to the development of the Belarusian language during the 1920s. He is credited with coining the term 'zmahar', which was intended to encapsulate the spirit of struggle for communism in Belarusian. His works, including a Russian-Belarusian dictionary published in 1924, aimed to enrich the Belarusian language with new terms reflective of the political and ideological changes following the October Revolution.
