Patrick Hutchison is a former copywriter who turned his life around after purchasing a small cabin in Index, Washington, for $7,500. Initially seeking home ownership, Hutchison's journey began after his apartment was robbed, prompting him to look at cabin listings. Over the next six years, he transformed the dilapidated 11-square-meter cabin into a livable space, teaching himself carpentry along the way. His experiences led him to write a memoir titled 'Cabin: Off the Grid Adventures with a Clueless Craftsman' and eventually transition to a full-time career as a carpenter, where he now builds treehouses and continues to explore construction projects.
