Peng Peiyun
Peng Peiyun (1929-2025) was a renowned Chinese politician and a prominent member of the Chinese Communist Party. Born in Liuyang, Hunan, she dedicated her life to public service, particularly in the fields of population health, women's and children's rights, and legal reform. Throughout her career, she held numerous important positions, including Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Chairwoman of the All-China Women's Federation. She was instrumental in implementing significant policies such as family planning and women's development initiatives, and she played a key role in the 1995 United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. Peng was known for her commitment to the principles of communism and her unwavering support for the Party's leadership, making substantial contributions to Chinese society until her passing on December 21, 2025.
