Qi Fabao

Qi Fabao is a regimental commander in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China, who gained recognition for his valor during the Galwan clash with India in 2020, where he sustained a head injury. He has since been honored with various accolades, including the title of 'Hero Regimental Commander for Defending the Border' and the July 1 Medal by the Communist Party of China. In 2022, he was a torchbearer at the Beijing Winter Olympics, a move that sparked diplomatic tensions with India. Recently, he was awarded the 2024 Outstanding Performance Award for CPPCC Members, reaffirming his significant role in China's military and political landscape.
