General Quintanilla was a Bolivian military leader during the Battle of Boquerón, overseeing the 4th and 7th divisions of Bolivia's forces. He faced significant challenges in defending the fort against the determined Paraguayan assault that culminated in the fort's surrender on September 29, 1932.
