Shayma

Shayma is a 15-year-old Afghan refugee currently living in hiding in Pakistan. She is a passionate musician who has had to adapt her love for music amidst the challenges posed by the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan. Her family fled to Pakistan seeking refuge due to the dire situation for women and girls in her home country. Shayma dreams of resettling in the United States, where she could freely pursue her passion for music, but her family remains in limbo as they await refugee status.
