
Sukamto
Sukamto, a former political prisoner from Wates, Yogyakarta, was detained at the age of 18 during the political turmoil of 1965-1966. He was accused of being affiliated with the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) due to his father's business connections and was imprisoned for two years before being relocated to Buru, Maluku. After enduring hardships during his imprisonment, Sukamto chose to remain in Buru, where he has established a new life.
