Sumaya Clarke

Sumaya Clarke is a senior lecturer in environmental and water science at the University of the Western Cape. Her research focuses on the challenges of managing sanitation in informal settlements in Cape Town, where inadequate infrastructure contributes to pollution in local waterways, affecting both ecosystems and community health.
