Syarhei Tsikhanouski

Syarhei Tsikhanouski is a Belarusian opposition leader and former blogger who became a prominent figure in the anti-Lukashenko movement. He was arrested shortly after announcing his candidacy for the presidency in 2020 and was subsequently sentenced to 18 years in prison on charges widely viewed as politically motivated. His release after nearly five years in jail was celebrated by his wife, Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya, who has continued to lead the opposition from exile.
