Tan Hoang
Tan Hoang is a Vietnamese-Canadian restaurateur and a member of the Vietnamese diaspora who fled Saigon with his family in 1975. At 70 years old, he reflects on his past as a 'boat person,' having built a makeshift vessel to escape the turmoil following the Vietnam War's conclusion. Now settled in Edmonton, he runs the King Noodle House and actively participates in community events to commemorate the struggles and resilience of Vietnamese refugees. Hoang's experiences of fear, loss, and the longing for his homeland shape his life and his contributions to the Vietnamese-Canadian community.
