Tereza de Benguela

Tereza de Benguela was an 18th-century quilombola leader who played a crucial role in the political and economic structure of the Quilombo do Quariterê. After the death of her husband, José Piolho, she assumed command and governed with the help of a parliament until her execution by Portuguese authorities in 1775. Recently, her likeness was reconstructed using historical documents and AI technology, allowing for a more accurate representation of her identity.
