
Timoleon Filimon
Timoleon Filimon (1833-1898) was a prominent Greek intellectual, politician, and journalist, known for his advocacy of liberal and democratic ideas in the 19th century. Born in Nafplio, he became a lawyer and earned his doctorate in law at a young age. Filimon was a key figure in the establishment of the modern Greek state and served as a member of parliament and mayor of Athens. He played a significant role in the revival of the Olympic Games, serving as secretary of the organizing committee for the 1896 Athens Olympics. His commitment to journalism and public service earned him a respected place in Greek history.
