Tommy Moe
Tommy Moe is a retired American alpine ski racer who gained fame for winning the gold medal in the men's downhill at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Despite having a successful Olympic career, Moe's World Cup achievements were relatively modest. Following his Olympic triumph, he faced a significant injury when he tore his ACL the next year while competing in Kvitfjell, Norway. Moe's legacy in skiing is preserved through the 'Tommy Moe Channel,' a section of the Olympic course named in his honor.
