Víctor de Currea-Lugo

Víctor de Currea-Lugo is a Colombian physician, writer, and analyst specializing in Middle Eastern affairs. He gained notoriety in early 2023 when he was nominated as ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, a position he ultimately declined due to serious allegations of sexual harassment made against him by a congresswoman. Following the controversy, de Currea-Lugo stepped back from the public eye but has recently resurfaced as an advisor in the Administrative Department of the Presidency under President Gustavo Petro.
