Viktoria Amelina

Viktoria Amelina was a Ukrainian author born in Lviv in 1986. She was known for her poignant writings that often explored the complexities of war and human experience. Despite her promising career, which included two novels and a children's book, her life was tragically cut short in 2023 when she succumbed to injuries sustained from a Russian missile strike in Kramatorsk. Amelina was deeply involved in documenting and raising awareness about Russia's war crimes following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Her posthumous work, 'Se kvinnorna se kriget', which translates to 'See the Women See the War', was published by Ersatz and includes her reflections on the conflict, showcasing her commitment to bearing witness to the horrors of war.
