Vladimir Kniga

Vladimir Kniga is a Belarusian political prisoner and former security officer known for his activism against the government of Alexander Lukashenko. He was arrested on June 4, 2020, during protests supporting opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. Kniga was initially sentenced to four years in a penal colony for organizing actions that disrupt public order, and he has since faced additional charges, including a recent one for 'willful disobedience to the lawful demands of the administration of the colony,' resulting in another year of imprisonment. He is currently held incommunicado, with reports of harsh treatment, including isolation and restrictions on communications.
