Yevgueni Prigozhin

Yevgueni Prigozhin was a Russian businessman and former caterer known for founding the Wagner Group, a private military company. Initially a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, he became increasingly vocal in his criticisms of the Russian military's handling of the war in Ukraine. Prigozhin's controversial career came to an abrupt end when he died in a plane crash in August 2023, which many suspected was a politically motivated attack.
