Zla Mavka
Zla Mavka, meaning 'Fierce Mavka' in Ukrainian, is a women-only resistance movement operating in occupied Ukrainian territories. Named after a mythical female spirit from Ukrainian folklore, the group engages in nonviolent forms of protest and cultural preservation amid the oppressive conditions of Russian occupation. Members face extreme risks, including arrest and torture, for engaging in any form of dissent or communication with the outside world.
