Andrii Parubii
Andrii Parubii was a prominent Ukrainian politician and former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament. Born in the Lviv region, he studied at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the Lviv Polytechnic. His political career began in the Lviv Regional Council, where he served as a deputy and later as vice-chairman. Parubii was an active participant during the Euromaidan protests, leading the self-defense units and becoming a key figure in the movement. In 2016, he became the President of the Verkhovna Rada, a position he held until 2019, playing a significant role in the legislative process during a tumultuous period in Ukraine's history. Tragically, he was killed in Lviv on August 30, 2023, in an incident involving an assailant disguised as a delivery courier.
