Athalia Christie is the incident commander for the measles response at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She was recently in the news due to being among the hundreds of CDC employees who were mistakenly fired as part of a reduction in force initiated by the Trump administration, amidst rising concerns over the highest annual total of measles cases in the U.S. since the disease was declared eliminated.
