Carlota Joaquina de Borbón
Carlota Joaquina de Borbón was the infanta of Spain and the wife of the Portuguese prince regent. Her influence extended to the governance of the Capitanía of Rio Grande do Sul, as her orders led to military interventions in Paraguay during its struggle for independence in 1811.
