Manuel Atanasio Cabañas

Manuel Atanasio Cabañas was a Paraguayan military leader and key figure in the early stages of Paraguay's struggle for independence from Spanish rule. In May 1811, he mobilized troops in the Cordilleras as part of a coordinated revolutionary effort that sought to liberate Paraguay from colonial governance.
