
Chao Hsue-yuan
Chao Hsue-yuan is an 85-year-old former soldier of the KMT who frequently visits the Martyrs' Shrine in Mae Salong to honor his fallen comrades. He fled with his family from Yunnan province during the KMT retreat in 1949 and has dedicated his life to remembering the legacy of the KMT army and its connection to Taiwan.
