Charles J. Guiteau

Charles J. Guiteau was an American lawyer and writer known for assassinating President James A. Garfield in 1881. Driven by delusions of grandeur, Guiteau believed that his actions would benefit the country and sought to claim credit for Garfield's presidency. He was apprehended shortly after the shooting and later convicted and executed, becoming a notorious figure in American history.
