Claudio Manuel Neves-Valente
Claudio Manuel Neves-Valente, a 48-year-old Portuguese national, was identified as the suspect in a tragic mass shooting at Brown University that resulted in the deaths of two students and injuries to nine others. Neves-Valente, who studied physics at Brown from 2000 to 2001, later withdrew from the university and had no active affiliation with it at the time of the incident. Following the shooting, he was also suspected of murdering renowned MIT nuclear physics professor Nuno Loureiro days later. Authorities discovered Neves-Valente deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a storage facility in New Hampshire during their investigation.
