Cleón was a prominent demagogue in ancient Athens, known for his ability to sway public opinion through polarizing speeches. A wealthy merchant, he adopted a populist persona, often dressing like the common people to connect with the masses. Cleón's rhetoric championed the cause of the ordinary citizen against the elites and he was a key figure in the political life of Athens during the 5th century BC, famously depicted as the antagonist in the video game 'Assassin's Creed Odyssey'.
