Constantin Tănase was a renowned Romanian actor born on July 5, 1880, in Vaslui. He became famous for his contributions to the cabaret and revue theatre in Romania, co-founding the Cărăbuș theatre in Bucharest in 1919, which established a lasting tradition of theatrical performance. Tănase was celebrated for his comedic talent and satirical approach to performances, often addressing social and political themes of his time. He received the Commander rank of the Order of the Crown of Romania in 1942. His life was cut short when he died on August 29, 1945, amidst rumors that he was killed by the invading Red Army due to his critical portrayals of Soviet soldiers.
