Dona Nena is a local chocolatier from Ilha do Combu, Brazil, who has gained recognition for her sustainable chocolate production using cacao cultivated in her own backyard. Starting her business in 2006, she has expanded her reach to customers across Brazil through online sales. Recently, she received support from the German government to improve her chocolate factory, demonstrating her commitment to sustainable practices and community employment, as her business currently provides jobs for 20 local residents.
