Emily Shechtman

Emily Shechtman is the co-founder and executive director of South Brooklyn Sanctuary, a non-profit organization that emerged from the Good Shepherd church to provide vital assistance and legal support to recently arrived immigrants in New York City. Under her leadership, the organization has developed programs that empower immigrants by offering resources such as know-your-rights training, legal clinics, and community support, especially in response to the heightened fear and confusion following the Trump administration's aggressive immigration policies.
