Ferdinand Marco

Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is the current President of the Philippines, having taken office in June 2022. He is the son of the former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., whose regime was marked by martial law and human rights abuses. Marcos Jr. has been working to strengthen the Philippines' defense ties with the United States amidst increasing tensions with China, particularly over territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
