Franqui Flores

Franqui Flores is a Venezuelan national and one of the nephews of Cilia Flores, the first lady of Venezuela. He gained notoriety following his arrest in 2015 during a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration sting operation, leading to his conviction in 2016 for attempting to orchestrate a multimillion-dollar cocaine deal. Dubbed the 'narco nephews,' he was sentenced to 18 years in prison, but was released in a 2022 prison swap with Venezuela. Recently, he was in the news due to the U.S. imposing fresh sanctions targeting him and his cousin, as part of broader efforts to pressure the Venezuelan government.
