Georgi Parvanow

Georgi Parvanow is a Bulgarian politician who served as the President of Bulgaria from 2002 to 2012. He was a member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and played a significant role in Bulgaria's integration into the European Union and NATO. Parvanow's presidency was marked by efforts to modernize the country and enhance its international standing. He is also known for his diplomatic engagements, including his notable gift to U.S. President Bill Clinton, a large handmade carpet featuring portraits of the Clintons, which is now preserved in the Presidential Library.
