Gildo Macedo Lacerda
Gildo Macedo Lacerda was a Brazilian political dissident who was tortured and killed during the military dictatorship in Brazil in 1973. He was only 24 years old at the time of his death, which remained officially unrecognized for decades. Recently, Tessa Moura Lacerda, his daughter, successfully fought for the correction of his death certificate to accurately reflect the state-sanctioned violence he suffered.
