Harun al-Rashid

Harun al-Rashid was the fifth caliph of the Abbasid dynasty, reigning from 786 to 809 AD. He is often regarded as one of the greatest caliphs, known for his patronage of the arts and sciences, and for his role in expanding the Islamic empire. His era is frequently associated with the peak of the Islamic Golden Age, marked by cultural and intellectual advancements. Additionally, he is remembered for his deep involvement in the development of trade routes, including the Darb Zubaydah, which facilitated commerce and pilgrimage in the region.
