Hudson Austin
Hudson Austin is a former military leader of Grenada who played a significant role in the country's political landscape during the 1980s. He was a key figure in the New Jewel Movement, which overthrew the previous government in 1979. Austin served as the Minister of National Security and later as the head of the Grenadian military. His leadership ended with the U.S. invasion of Grenada in 1983, which sought to restore order and remove the Marxist government. Following the invasion, Austin was captured and later imprisoned. He has since become a symbol of the complexities of Cold War politics in the Caribbean.
