Ivan Skoropadsky

Ivan Skoropadsky was a prominent Ukrainian political figure who served as the Hetman of the Cossack Hetmanate from 1708 until his death in 1722. His leadership was marked by attempts to maintain a degree of autonomy for Ukraine under the suzerainty of Peter I of Russia. However, his tenure saw increased Russian control over Ukrainian affairs, culminating in the establishment of the Little Russian Collegium, which further diminished the powers of the Hetman.
