Ján M.
Ján M. is a 57-year-old man from Košice, Slovakia, who recently garnered attention for his involvement in a robbery case that stemmed from his compassion for his ailing mother. In January 2024, he was sentenced to four and a half years in a minimum-security facility for robbing a flower shop. Earlier in May 2023, he made headlines for swimming across the Narva River from Estonia to Russia, which led to a fine and deportation after a legal process in Russia. Ján has since expressed his grievances and hopes by sending letters, including a poem, to high-ranking officials, including the President of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini.
