Jared Genser is an American human rights attorney and advocate known for his work on behalf of political prisoners and victims of human rights abuses around the world. He has served as a special advisor to the Organization of American States (OAS), where he recently recommended that Haiti's ongoing security mission should be converted into a formal peacekeeping operation by the U.N. Security Council, in light of the increasing control of armed gangs in the country.
