Kasım-Jomart Tokayev is the President of Kazakhstan, having assumed office in 2019. He previously served as the Chairman of the Senate and held various diplomatic positions, including as the country's foreign minister. Tokayev is known for his efforts to promote stability and economic development in Kazakhstan, as well as his role in fostering international cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). He was recently in the news for hosting the 25th summit of the SCO, where issues of regional security and collaboration were discussed.
